Different Take On The Saran Wrap Method

Friday, January 11, 2013

Hola!

Espero que esten bien! I hope you are all doing well.  Here I have for you my take on the Saran wrap method.  I call it the Plastic Bag Method! lol

I wanted to write about the saran wrap method.  Its a nail technique that kind of looks like marbling or even sponging.  Saran wrap is a thin plastic wrap typically used for sealing food items in containers to keep them fresh over a longer period of time.  You can use this plastic wrap to add color to your base color and give them that marbling effect.  Unfortunately or fortunately at the time I heard about Saran wrap technique I didn't have any in my home, so I  had to improvise.  I took a ordinary grocery plastic bag and used it the same way you would use the Saran wrap.  It became my favorite way of achieving this effect!  Below is the picture with the steps I use in creating my designs.

Steps:

1.  Let your base color completely dry.
2.  Cut plastic bag in small pieces.
3.  Crumple your piece of bag.
4.  Place some polish on cardboard or paper.
5.  Softly Press the crumple plastic piece on the polish.
6.  By pressing the crumple plastic piece on the paper you check if you like the design it creates.
7.  Now you repeat on your nails.  If you wish you can add more colors or even glitters.
8.  Seal in with a top coat, and you are finish!

Polishes used:
1.  Zoya Bevin as my base color
2.  Zoya Evvie
3.  Zoya Ray
4.  Zoya Song
5.  Color Club Snow flake

I hope you understood my method in creating this fabulous manicure! If you haven any questions leave them in the comments below!

Here I add some stamping over my manicure.  I used Mash plate 43 and Essie No Place Like Chrome. Enjoy! ;)

  1. This is beautiful! Great step-by-step, too. :) I haven't tried this yet, but I hope to soon. The colors you picked are perfect together! And the stamping is amazing... doesn't cover up the colors at all. Love this! :)
