I got a request on YouTube from the lovely +maryloiza33, she wanted to know if I could make a manicure with sunset & palm trees. I glady accepted. I actually had a hard time creating them, because I wanted to create something different. I did a gradient but didn't blend it out entirely because I wanted to create a different effect. I wanted it to look like a painting. I really hope she enjoys my video and so do you!
What did I use?
1. Base Color: Sinful Color White on White
2. Gradient:
Morgan Taylor Making Waves- dark Blue
Morgan Taylor Take Me to Your Tribe- light Blue
Sally Hansen Sun Kissed- orange
Sally's Pumkin- darker orange
Sally Hansen Lightning- yellow
Morgan Taylor Take Me to your Tribe- again light Blue
Revlon Colorstay Delicious- red
3. Sand Color: Zoya Chantal
4. Palm Trees: Bundle Monster plate BM315
5. Black Polish: P&E makeup
6. Sea Grapes: Bundle Monster BM219
7. Green Polish for stamping: OPI Don't Mess With OPI
8. Seche Vite
9. Black & White Stamper
In Puerto Rico school started on August 6 and I have been busy ever since. I see that in many places school is now starting to begin. So I guess Puerto Rican Schools start earlier than most school in the states. I have been seeing so many wonderful school related manis online. One that I really love is Chalkboard Nails. I tried to make them by hand and this was the result:
Not my best, but I tried... haha. :) I have very shaky hands. So then I decided to make them the way I know best and its with stamping. Here is the result:
Much better. :) What do you think?
Tip: You can easily add neon colors and over the white to resemble colored chalk. Cool right?
Here are the polishes and tools used:
1. I painted all my nails with Orly Liquid Vinyl.
2. I waited them to dry then I applied China Glaze Matte Magic.
3. After the Matte Magic dried I applied the stamping.
4. I used Mash plate 31 for the happy face, Bundle Monster 311 for the full image of numbers & XL image plate for the letters.
5. I used Konad White.
6. Remember not to use a top coat or you will ruin the matte look.
I hope you enjoy and I will love to see your chalkboard manis just tag me on Instagram @swanettesnails
Here I have another mani I did using the plastic bag method... also known as The Saran wrap method. I hope you like it!

Look what I found! My first Color Club polishes! I went to my local Sally Beauty Supply and found this special box on clearance. It has four mini Color Club polishes inside. They where priced $4.99 but they where having their additional 50% off clearance sale making them $2.50, and I can't say no to a good sale! lol They where part of their Christmas Collection.

So what could I do with these colors... I asked my self. A colorful mani!
After stalking my local Sally Beauty Supply for a long time, they finally received The China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Collection... Yay! I bought six polishes from the collection.
(from left to right: Get Carried Away, Running in Circles, Water you waiting for, Creative Fantasy, Whirled Away and It's a Trap-eze)
1. Get Carried Away
I applied Get Carried Away over Rimmel Black Satin. The Application was quite difficult to apply because it was thick and goopy. Maybe some thinner will do the trick and make it better to apply. Its a was too sheer for me to wear on its own, so I applied it over black. In my opinion the result is better than wearing the polish on its own.
2. Running In Circles
What a beautiful green! The application was fabulous. I only used two coats. Here I used Bundle Monster 320 plate and Rimmel Black Satin Polish.
3. Water You Waiting For
Here is another beauty from this collection. I used Bundle Monster 323 plate and Essie No place like Chrome on my ring finger.
4. Whirled Away
I love this one even if its hard to get these glitter on my nails. I will make it work! It seems like this nail polish needs more glitter especially the white hexes. I had to use a dotting tool to pick up the white hexes and apply them to my nails.
5. It's A Trap-eze
This is my favorite from all the six I purchase! Love it! It makes me happy just looking at it! It was easy to apply. Doesn't it look yummy? It reminds me of cupcakes or ice cream with sprinkles.
6. Creative Fantasy
For some odd reason my camera isn't picking up its true color but you can also see it on my Yummy Cupcake Mani I posted before. It is a bright purple and dries a semi matte. I applied four coats and it is still sheer. Here I used Red Angel plate 114, Sinful Colors Snow me White on my ring finger and Seche Vite.
I definitely Love these Colors! I am so happy that China Glaze release this collection! Its so colorful and fun! What do you think of China Glaze Cirque du Soleil Collection?
